Top deer hunting rifles for North Carolina's coastal plains? Seeking accurate, lightweight options under 7 lbs with good optics compatibility. What rifles perform best in this terrain, and any scope suggestions?

For North Carolina coastal plains deer, you can pick a lightweight rifle under 7 lbs ...Tikka T3x or Browning X Bolt in .243, 6.5 Creedmoor, or short-action .308, also use 3–9× or 4–12× scopes.

All the previous replies are great options, i've taken some longer shots in the Coastal plains of Down East NC, so a good accurate round is a priority, someone mentioned .243 & 6.5 Creedmoor, or .308, I would also like to add the 6mm Creedmoor. Is a .243 diameter bullet on a 6.5 Creedmoor case, very flat shooting and with the right bullet it really packs a walup with very low recoil, on longer shots with mine i can watch the impacts and see the deer react, usually it's a face plant, but if I were to hit it back or the deer turn and run i can see where it goes and judge on how long to wait by it's reaction.
