I am switching up my everyday carry and want your thoughts. I am thinking about a small 9mm but I can't pick one. Any recommendations for me?

It would be helpful if I knew how you planned to carry the pistol, if your hand fit better with a single or double stack, and have you considered buying a used pistol or insist on buying a new in the box handgun.

That said, I prefer IWB carry with a single stack 9mm.

My favorite CCWs are a Smith & Wesson model 3953 or 4053; then, a Walther PPSm1. I prefer metal, but the PPS was designed for concealed carry by investigators, undercover, and off-duty officers.

A Don Hume H715-M WCS holster works well with each handgun, and provides a great combat grip out of the gun-molded open top single clip holster that can be worn in many strong side positions as well as cross draw.

All 3 mentioned above are good choices but most are discontinued so you’d need to go used.
The starting list of current choices likely starts with a P365. I tried an XL and 4 different grip modules before giving up and gifting it to my son. If you like it, I would suggest a p365X. Shorter barrel but enough grip to still have control.
A Hellcat might be a choice but I can’t shoot it accurately and traded it away.
I have a Ruger Max9 that works well.
My current carry is a S&W CSX-E. I like the all metal hammer fired. In the summer my BG 2 usually wins out. In that vein the new ported version with a 3.1” barrel is actually on my list to try.
Sticking with S&W, a Shield Plus is a solid choice. There are so many versions that one is bound to work.
In general, most of these I have mentioned are available in various versions with barrels from 3.”-3.7” barrels and capacity of 10 rds- 1.5 rds.
My preference for concealed is a shorter barrel (3.1”) but a mid size capacity grip (12-13rd) for the increased control.
Honorable mention might go to a HK CC9 but I like a MS on a carry gun which it lacks. I know opinions vary on this subject too.
I pretty much hate to post because someone will get on here and contest everything I said, but I have tried every gun mentioned and several more besides so I hope this helps.
Ha ha, I would like to get a S&W 3953 too.

What was already said here is pretty much standard. The other choice is: hammer or Stryker fired? Best to go to some shops and put a few in your hand(s) not to mention, shoot a few if the shop/range has rentals.

I have the original s&w shield too. I like it. It doesn’t jold as many rounds as some. But consider the weight of ammo can quickly out weigh the gun it’s self. That’s something I think gets overlooked when shopping for daily carry, specifically concealed carry

I like and have a bunch of small frame semi auto guns as they are easy to conceal. My holster preference is OWB for the comfort factor and have one for each of my nearly 30 weapons. My EDC as of late has been a Glock 29 (10mm) as I trust it to do the job but any gun I have will do the job. A couple other honorable mentions are the Hellcat and P365. All that said just go to a gun shop and handle whatever interests you and good luck.
