Just waving hello as a new member to the forum. Strictly a sport shooter (the only thing in danger when I shoot is paper, and even then...) who is looking to add to the collection and enjoys range days when I can. My long guns have become safe queens (hard to find places to shoot when you live on an island), but the handguns are definitely enjoyed on a regular basis.
Interested in perhaps adding a CMP 1911, but I believe one has to be a member of a sanctioned gun club to participate. There's not one I know of near me (Dare County), so any thoughts on that would be appreciated.
