Honest about bailing or make up excuses?

Do you just tell people straight up "don't feel like it" or do you make up reasons? I respect honesty but sometimes a little white lie is easier. What's your approach? Anyone brave enough to just say no without explaining?

Well, it depends. It depends on what the ask is, and who's doing the asking. If I've been invited to a great niece's 5th birthday party the answer is likely "Oh, sorry I already had plans for that day." If a buddy ask if I want to go fishing with him and the weather man is predicting temp's in the low 40s and a 30 mph wind I'll likely just say "No thanks, but good luck to ya."
