I am supposed to clean after every range trip but the reality is I clean maybe every third trip unless it's really dirty. I know I should do it more. What's your actual cleaning schedule? Be honest, not what you're supposed to do.
Raised by a Depression era Dad who was also a WWII Marine, clean any and all guns after a range trip or firing at all. Sometimes I may wait a day or three, but it always gets done. I actually enjoy it - it's not a chore to me. It's part of enjoying your hardware.
Whatever I just fired gets cleaned as soon as I get back home. Just anal that way, but all my firearms could pass for NIB, with only one or two exceptions, which were inherited with some holster/glove box wear.
