Manual or automatic transmission?

I learned to drive on a manual but automatics sure make life easier these days. I will like to know where everyone lands, manual, automatic or both?

I started on my Grandmother's 1952 Chevrolet with a three-on-the-tree at age 13. Drivers' Ed was a 'Special Request' manual 1962 Ford Fairlane. My first car was a stick 1963 VW Bug. The Army was a mix. The next decade was a mix with a couple more manual VW Bugs and AMC Spirit GTs and the rest were automatics.

Looking back, somewhere in the late 70's was the last time I owned a manual.

My first car was a 1966 MG Midget, 4 speed manual transmission. I have had a few other manual shift vehicles and prefer them. I wish they were more available. IMO all sports cars should be manual as well as trucks, or at least an option but this country has become pussified.

I can handle both, but I'm team automatic now. Manual is fun but when you're stuck in traffic or having a long day, easy driving is a blessing.
