I know I should check fluids, tires and everything, I usually just jump in and go, it is probably gonna bite me eventually. Are you good about vehicle maintenance

I check fluids and tires religiously, I have learned the hard way that “probably fine” isn’t a strategy.

I pretty much have to stay on top of maintenance, mostly for unique circumstances.
My pictured 1990 Jeep XJ (Cherokee) 4x4, my designated hunting vehicle and also used for chores at the lease, is now 36 years old. Old stuff breaks, rusts, and can break down. This coupled with having almost ~zero~ cell signal at the lease means that if it leaves me....inconvenient would be an understatement. In some areas, I MIGHT get a text out, but for sure no phone call.
Kinda like the old days....once you left home you were unreachable until you got back. ;)

Nothing says “old school adventure” like a 36-year Jeep and total radio silence
