Summer can drag on when you're itching for hunting season to start, but it's also a great time to get organized. I've been sifting through my gear, checking in on my trail cams, and trying to stay fit, though I can't shake the feeling I've let some things slip. I'm curious about how others are using this time—do you scout new spots, practice your shooting, or handle land management tasks, or do you just sit back and wait until fall?

My prep will mostly have to wait until I start getting paid again at the end of August. I will be buying a bolt action upper chambered in 350 Legend to mate with a nice lower I already have. I should be able to end up with a nice accurate deer rifle for $350 or less as I already have the lower and suppressor I want to use.

I also have a nice PCC in 10 mm I plan to hunt with. I have a DI PCC in 460 Rowland coming (hopefully) soon as well. The 460 R was ordered in March.
