Hey folks,

With Thanksgiving here, I figured it’d be fun to see what everyone’s cooking up. What’s on your dish this year? traditional favorites or something totally different?

If you can, post a picture of your plate (or the whole spread!) and share any recipes you’re willing to pass along. It is always great to pick up new ideas and maybe steal a dish or two for next year.

Corn chowder like at the Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge, TN.

We will be celebrating with my daughter's family this Thanksgiving, and I'm bring my sweet potato crunch with its gravy. The gravy is actually a simple to make butter pecan sauce that really enhances the sweet potato casserole.

Recipe for butter pecan sauce that yields 2 cups...
1/2 Cup butter
1 Cup pecan pieces
1 Cup brown sugar
1/3 Cup heavy cream
1/4 Cup corn syrup

In saucepan, melt butter; add pecan pieces cook over low-medium heat until nuts are toasted and butter is lightly browned. Next, stir in brown sugar, cream, and corn syrup. Cook gently until sugar is completely dissolved. DO NOT OVERCOOK. Serve warm or cold

This sauce goes great on ice cream, apple or pecan pie (with or without ice cream), pancakes, waffles, french toast croissants...
