Concealed Carry Permit

Do you think it's worth it? I had mine, but let it lapse when I was moving. Now I have to sign up again and take the class.
It was an OKAY class, but not sure it's worth a whole Saturday again.

I will renew mine when it expires in May 2027. I doubt I'll be buying more guns, but there is always a possibility.

I think it's worth it. Just because it makes it easier when I make a purchase. Not likely but you may just learn something in the class.

Another big reason is state to state reciprocity. I plan to keep renewing mine till age 80.

It seems worth it to me. 1) I never know when I may come across a gun in the used gun case of my LGS or pawn shop. Having that permit makes the buying process a lot quicker and smoother. 2) I tend to think that a CCW carries some weight with traffic cops. When they pull your file and see the CCW flag they automatically know that you have already been vetted which I suspect puts them a little more at ease. Between the CCW and being polite, I've gotten off with way more verbal warnings than I've gotten tickets.

Can you give a link to the veto override? I have not heard of a successful vote on a concealed carry override.

Shotgunangler - My career was in LE for ~30 years. You are spot-on. An occasional interaction or traffic stop involving a NC CHL holder told me that I was dealing with an actual reasonable, sane and usually respectful person.
They got warnings usually and I always wished them to continue on safely.

Ladder 13th, It would appear that jumped the gun (bad pun, sorry). For some reason I was under the impression that the over-ride vote had already taken place and the veto was shot down. (another bad pun).

I doubt there will be an override. I don't believe Berger really wants it, he just wants to appear in favor, for votes.
